Northwestern University NROTC alumni are welcome and encouraged to submit family and personal news for near-term inclusion in this segment of the NU website and for later inclusion in the next regular issue of the Crow's Nest.  Submit your item to jferrara9@yahoo.com and be sure to include your class year.  Your classmates want to know how and what you're doing!  Let them know.

Frederick H. Hallett - 1951: "Just enjoyed a family gathering for my 94th birthday. Among them was son, retired LCOL USMC Josh Hallett, and grandsons ENS Connor Hallett and MIDN 2/C Hayden Hallett." (05/23)
Sarkis S. Sarkisian - 1953: "On June 9, 2023, I and my wife Anahid will celebrate our 67th anniversary. We were married in the historic Navy chapel on Treasure Island, San Francisco." (05/23)
Sarkis S. Sarkisian - 1953: "I graduated as the commanding officer of the NROTC group, June 1953, during the Korean War. I was able to get into the Seabees. Spent 3 years on active duty and then 8 years in the reserves. " (12/23)
Ben Mogni - 1957: "Still active playing golf, bridge, and dominos at age 88. Keep in touch with Robert Flinn, 1957 and Emmon Rodgers, but that is it. Now enjoying 2 great grandsons, 1.5 and 2 years old. " (01/24)

Paul A. McAllister - 1969: "After building my company, EcoFlo Holding, Inc, over 36 years into one of the largest industrial and hazardous waste management companies on the east coast, I finally sold it in November 2021. My wife, Ginger, and I now split our time between Maryland, the Jersey Shore, and Florida and enjoy spending time with our six daughters' families including 26 grandchildren. " (12/23)
John McCarron - 1970: "Former Crow's Nest editor gone on to three-decade career as Chicago Tribune reporter, section editor, and member of the newspaper's editorial board." (12/23)
R. Lee Griffith - 1970: "Lee published his new book "The Right Thing" which is available at Amazon.com under books. Lee was selected to represent team USA at the Sprint Triathalon World Championships at Malaga, Spain in 2024. " (11/23)
David M. Gubanc - 1971: "Give my best to Bob Shaw (70) and Joel Weber (73). Always great to hear from the Unit. Phyllis and I will be in Evanston for the Minnesota game on 9/23/23 for some Ex Home Association business and some tailgates. Thanks for the updates." (05/23)
David M. Gubanc - 1971: "Noted that November 17th, 2023 marked the 50th Anniversary of becoming a plankowner of USS Capodanno (FF-1093) in Mayport FL. when that ship was commissioned on 11/17/73. I was that great ship's first Commanding Officer. Named for LT Vincent Capodanno, Navy Chaplain CMOH recipient, who lost his life in Vietnam in 1967. Best regards to Bob Shaw, 1970 and Joel Weber , 1973." (11/23)
Lawrence W. Findeiss - 1971: "Enjoying retirement in new home in central New Hampshire. Good retirement benefits from total of 23 years in Active and then Reserves. Honored to be promoted to Rear Admiral (Upper Half) and will continue to advocate for positive change and continual improvement throughout the Fleet. Francisco J. Degollado - 2012: "Honored and blessed to have earned my commission at the Northwestern NROTC via the Seaman to Admiral program. As I hit 20 years of active duty service to our great nation, I fondly look back at my time in Evanston and lifelong friendships established. Currently stationed in Virginia Beach as the Director of Logistics and Ordnance for a Naval Special Warfare team and looking forward to my next post abroad. Wishing the next generation of officers all the best in both your personal and professional endeavors." (03/23)
