2026

Ronald G. Hooper, Class of 1958. I just turned 90- still going strong! (7/26)
Capt Richard E. Allen, US Navy (Ret.), Class of 1961. My greatest joy before graduating from small town DuQuoin, Illinois, in 1957 was the Dept. of Defense letter saying I was selected for the NROTC unit at Northwestern University. Serving the US Navy 30 years (6 active duty, as an A4 Skyhawk pilot, 1964 and '66 in Vietnam War) I've enjoyed Naval Reserve flying, and commands, mostly in Southern California. In past years, as a HS coach, and President of the local Naval Reserve Assoc., I've been able to happily direct many outstanding youngsters' attention to the NROTC. Our 6 grandchildren (all in the LA area, much to our joy) have all gotten the "briefing" as well! My California girl Lynne and I will celebrate our 57th wedding anniversary in Hawaii June 28. How we would love to attend the NU Navy centennial this Fall, but sadly, the legs not working so well these days 🙁 (7/26)
Ben Mogni Jr., Class of 1967. Had a chance to meet with all NROTC students at Homecoming. Talked to them about life aboard on a Destroyer 1957-59 and being part of the Quemoy Matsu Island standoff with China. Am still very active in Bridge and golf at age 90. (7/26)
Darse E. "Del" Crandall Jr. (VADM, JACC, USN, Ret.), Class of 1984. I have accepted a position as the next Dean of the School of Law at the Universiry of North Dakota Grand Forks. I start my new adventure on July 1. UND Law is the only law school in North Dakota, a growing school with a positive impact on the people of the state and the upper Midwest. UND law is consistently recognized as an affordable law school and has an impressive mission -- educating the very best, practice-ready attorneys and helping reduce legal deserts across North Dakota. If you get to Grand Forks, please look me and Barb up! (7/26)
Doug Anderson, Class of 1987. Still living in the Chicago area. I'm retiring summer 2026 and would like to encourage all '87 classmates to attend the 100 year celebration and/or our 40th reunion. Looking forward to seeing everyone! (7/26)
